
Dharamshala, 6 June 2026: A three-day workshop on the Rules, Regulations, and Policies of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) for the newly elected Members of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile successfully concluded on 6 June 2026 at the Tibetan Computer Resource Centre (TCRC) Hall in Dharamshala.
On the morning session of the final day of the workshop, the MPs undertook briefing visits to various CTA offices and institutions, including the Tibetan Computer Resource Centre (TCRC), the Department of Education (DoE), the Department of Finance (DoF), the Kashag Secretariat, and the Public Service Commission.
Thereafter, Speaker Dolma Tsering Teykhang introduced the parliamentarians to the Rules and Regulations of Parliamentary Procedure and the Conduct of Business of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile. The MPs raised various questions and sought clarifications on several provisions of the rules and regulations. The Speaker responded in detail, providing comprehensive explanations and guidance.
A brief closing ceremony was held, during which the Secretary-General of the Parliamentary Secretariat, Sonam Dorjee, thanked the MPs for their active and attentive participation throughout the workshop. He also provided a brief overview of the Parliamentary Secretariat and assured the MPs of the Secretariat’s full assistance and support in carrying out their official responsibilities.
The workshop aimed to strengthen the newly elected parliamentarians’ understanding of the legal and administrative framework governing the Central Tibetan Administration. It also sought to provide them with a comprehensive understanding of the CTA’s structure, functions, and governing regulations, thereby enabling them to contribute more effectively to its democratic governance and administration.
The newly elected members include Parliamentarians Lhamo Tsering Kongtsa, Lhakpa Tsering, Gonpo Dhundup, Gyaltsen Choekye Gagya, Dawa Tsering Bari, Ngawang Lodoe, Kunchok Rinchen, Sangye Dorjee, Tenzin Pelmo, Lharong, Lhamo Kyab, Ogyen Kyab, Kalsang Phuntsok Godruk, Tseten Phuntsok, and Tenzin Yangkar.
The three-day workshop, organized by the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, concluded on 6 June 2026 with a dinner attended by the Speaker and participating parliamentarians.
