Dharamshala: As part of the program of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Parliamentarians Choedak Gyatso and Gonpo Dhundup paid courtesy calls on Shri Ashish Kundra (IAS), Chief Secretary of the Union Territory of Ladakh, and Shri Anand Jain (IPS), Director General of Police (DGP) of Ladakh, on 26 June.
The two parliamentarians were accompanied by the Chief Representative Officer of Ladakh, Tashi Dhundup, and Office Secretary Karma Rinchen. During their meetings with the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police, they submitted both written and oral representations concerning grievances raised by local public representatives, as well as specific land ownership issues brought forward by the Chief Representative Officer.
In the presence of the parliamentarians, the Chief Secretary directed the concerned District Commissioner (DC) to address these grievances at the earliest. He further instructed the relevant authorities to ensure that the issues are resolved during the upcoming stay of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in the region.
The meetings concluded on a positive note, with assurances from the authorities that the matters would receive prompt attention.
