Dharamshala, 7 July 2026: Deputy Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, alongside the Chief Guest Justice Commissioner Dawa Phunkyi of the Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission and other guests, including Ju Tenkyong, Director of the Amnye Machen Institute for Advance Tibetan Studies, and Tenpa Gyaltsen, Deputy Director of the Tibet Policy Instiute at the hall of the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives (LTWA).

During the ceremony, the Deputy Speaker praised Beri Jigme as one of the foremost scholars of Tibetan literature and culture, acknowledging his lifelong dedication to literary and academic pursuits. He noted that the author’s tireless contributions have greatly benefited Tibetan society and the preservation and promotion of Tibetan intellectual heritage.

Highlighting the significance of the newly released book, the Deputy Speaker stated that it draws upon the teachings of Sakya Pandita to present the principles of human ethics in a clear and accessible manner. He emphasized that the work is highly relevant to contemporary society, as it promotes moral values, mutual respect, social harmony, and a sense of shared humanity.
He further stressed the importance of preserving, recognizing, and disseminating the profound wisdom and values embedded in Tibetan culture and classical literature. He expressed hope that the ethical teachings presented in the book would be introduced in schools and educational institutions, where they could contribute to enhancing moral awareness, critical thinking, and intellectual development among younger generations.

Speaking on the essence of human ethics, the Deputy Speaker explained that its primary objective is to enable individuals to distinguish right from wrong through wisdom and sound judgment, thereby fostering a peaceful and harmonious society in this lifetime. He underscored that such a society must be founded upon compassion, mutual respect, and the principle of equality among all people.

Concluding his remarks, the Deputy Speaker encouraged those attending the ceremony to study the book carefully and draw inspiration from the author’s teachings.
Remarks on the publication and the author’s scholarly contributions were also delivered by Ju Tenkyong, and Tempa Gyaltsen. Geshe Lhakdor, Director of LTWA, also shared his views and acknowledged Geshe Beri Jigme for his contribution to Tibetan Society through his books.

The event was attended by members of the Tibetan Parliament and other dignitaries, scholars, Staff, students, and other attendees.
