Dharamshala: A delegation of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, led by Deputy Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel and comprising Standing Committee members Lopon Thupten Gyaltsen, Lobsang Thupten Pontsang, Choedak Gyatso, Gonpo Dhundup, and Gyaltsen Choekye Gagya, is scheduled to visit India’s capital, New Delhi, from 25 July to 1 August 2026 to undertake a parliamentary advocacy campaign.

During the visit, the delegation will engage with Indian political leaders, parliamentarians, policymakers, and other key stakeholders to raise awareness of the critical situation in Tibet especially the People’s Republic of China’s Ethnic Unity and Progress Law, which came into force on 1 July 2026, and seek continued support for the just cause of the Tibetan people.

The MPs will leave for Delhi on 25 July, have official engagement there from 27 to 31 July, and return to Dharamshala on 1 August.
