Parliamentarians Juchen Konchok Chodon and Tsewang Tashi Bhara Conclude Official Visit to South India

Dharamshala: As part of the official visitation program of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Parliamentarians Juchen Konchok Chodon and Tsewang Tashi Bhara successfully concluded their official visit to Mysore and Bengaluru in southern India from 23 to 26 July 2026.

On 25 July 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m., the two parliamentarians visited the Office of the Chief Representative in Bengaluru. They also toured the office, library, and hostel facilities of the Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV) Youth Hostel, where they familiarized themselves with the institutions’ operations and current conditions.

They subsequently visited the Men-Tsee-Khang (Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute) branch clinics in Koramangala and Mahalakshmi, Bengaluru. Upon arrival, they were warmly received by the clinic directors and staff. The parliamentarians held extensive discussions with them on the functioning, services, and current status of the clinics.

Later that evening, at around 6:30 p.m., the parliamentarians attended a public gathering at the TCV Youth Hostel hall in Bengaluru. The event was attended by students, representatives of various Tibetan organizations, and members of the public.

During the gathering, the parliamentarians spoke on the recent self-immolation and passing of Tibetan patriot Rangzen Lobga in front of the United Nations Headquarters in New York, highlighting his final testament and its significance. They also responded to numerous questions from the audience, providing detailed explanations on issues of concern.

On the morning of 26 July 2026, the parliamentarians visited the Tibetan markets at Shivanagar and Dubai Plaza in Bengaluru, where they interacted with local Tibetans and observed the prevailing conditions. With these visits, Parliamentarians Juchen Konchok Chodon and Tsewang Tashi Bhara successfully concluded their official visitation program in Mysore and Bengaluru, South India.
