Dharamshala: Following their official visit to the Mangalore region in South India on 27 July, 2026, Tibetan Parliamentarians Juchen Kunchok Chodon and Tsewang Tashi Bhara have successfully concluded their scheduled official visit to the Lugsam Tibetan Settlement in Bylakuppe, Bangalore, Mysore, and Mangalore.

On the morning of 27 July, the two parliamentarians departed Bangalore at 4:00 AM and arrived at Mangalore Airport, where they were warmly received by the president and executive members of the local Regional Tibetan Youth Congress (RTYC).

At 11:30 AM, they met with Shri Ganesh Karnik, former Member of the Karnataka Legislative Council (MLC) and former Indian military officer. During the meeting, they discussed the Tibetan cause, expressed gratitude to him for looking after the Tibetan students studying in various colleges across the Mangalore area, and presented him with an official souvenir from the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile.

In the afternoon, the delegation met with Dr. Fatima D’Silva, Principal of the Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences, as well as the directors and faculty members of the B.Sc. Nursing and General Nursing departments. They inquired about the condition and well-being of the Tibetan students, thanked the institute for its continued support and care for the students, and presented a parliamentary souvenir.

Later at 6:00 PM, the parliamentarians delivered an address to Tibetan students studying at various colleges in the Mangalore region. They answered student queries and provided thorough clarifications during an interactive session. With this address, the official delegation’s visit to the Bylakuppe Lugsam Tibetan Settlement, Mysore, Bangalore, and Mangalore came to a successful conclusion.
