Dharamshala: As part of the program of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Parliamentarians Geshe Lharampa Atuk Tseten and Lharong commenced their official visit to meet and interact with the Tibetan public in Delhi on July 28, 2026.
On the morning of July 28 at 9:00 AM, received by the Settlement Officer of Delhi Samyeling and visited the Delhi Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV) Day School. During their visit, they inspected the ongoing senior class examinations and toured the creche and three pre-primary school sections. Principal Migmar Tsering welcomed them, provided an introduction to the school’s current status, and the parliamentarians offered guidance on future administrative and educational affairs.
At 10:30 AM on the same day, they visited the Indo-Tibetan Coordination Office (ITCO) in Delhi, where relevant staff members received them. The parliamentarians briefed themselves on ITCO’s current operations and offered suggestions and guidance for future activities. Following this, at 11:30 AM, they visited Tibet House, Delhi. They were welcomed by staff led by the Secretary, who presented a report on the functioning of the Tibet House. The parliamentarians commended Tibet House’s work, particularly highlighting the significant contributions made by Geshe Dorjee Damdul in introducing Buddhist philosophy, and urged the continuation of these efforts. They subsequently inspected the exhibition centre and classrooms.

Later, the parliamentarians visited the Nizamuddin Men-Tsee-Khang (Tibetan Medical & Astro. Institute) clinic. Welcomed by the Secretary, they received an overview of the clinic’s general activities and ongoing projects, followed by an inspection of the pharmacy and the clinic servicing Indian patients. They then returned to Samyeling Tibetan Settlement, where they met with Sonam Tsering (President of Students for a Free Tibet, regional Chapter), Penpa Tsering (President of the TCV Alumni Association), and Jigme (President of the Mussoorie Homes Alumni Association). The youth leaders introduced their current activities and engaged in an active discussion on future youth-led initiatives for the Tibetan cause.

On the morning of July 29, hosted by the Delhi Samyeling Settlement Officer, the two parliamentarians visited the Delhi Sherig Parkhang (Educational Printing Press). Director Tsering Norbu and staff members received them with traditional Tibetan tea and refreshments and presented a report on the printing press’s performance. After offering guidance regarding future operations, the parliamentarians toured various departments of the printing press. Subsequently, they visited the Drepung Loseling Jangchup Choeling centre in Delhi, where they were welcomed by the administrators (Gelongs) and monks, who served them lunch.
In the afternoon, the parliamentarians visited Ladakh Buddha Vihar. They were warmly welcomed by the local community leaders (Gyapon), Kunsang Dekyi (Director of the Delhi Reception Centre), and executive members of both the Street Vendors’ Association and the Shopkeepers’ Association. After attending a reception lunch organised at the Gyudmed Guest House, they inspected the Delhi Reception Centre, where the Director presented an official status report.

Following this, parliamentarians held an interactive feedback session with community leaders, the leaders of the Street Vendors’ and Shopkeepers’ Associations, and residents of Ladakh Buddha Vihar to hear their grievances and aspirations, and to provide guidance and directives.

Additionally, the parliamentarians paid visits to the local Gyuto Dolma Lhakhang (Tara Temple), the Ladakh Monastery, and the local street market areas.
