Dharamshala: As part of the program of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Parliamentarians Geshe Lharampa Atuk Tseten and Lharong successfully concluded their official visitation program with their final program in Delhi from 28 to 30 July, 2026.
On the morning of July 30 at 9:30 AM, the two Parliamentarians departed from Samyeling, Delhi, and visited the Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Delhi. Upon arrival, Representative Jigme Tsering, the Secretary, and other staff members extended a warm welcome and presented a briefing on the office’s operations. The Parliamentarians first expressed their congratulations to the newly appointed Representative. They then provided guidance emphasizing the general status of the Indian Registration Certificate (RC) and the Identity Certificate (IC), stressing the need to exercise strict attention and diligence regarding these two documents, particularly for Tibetans residing in South India and Dharamshala.
At 12:30 PM, the Parliamentarians paid visits to local religious centers including Jangtse Lhamo Khang, Jangchup Lhakhang, and Drepung Ngagpa Dratsang, as well as administrative offices such as the Local Assembly, the Tibetan Medical & Astro-Institute, the Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement (BRDL), and the local Health Clinic. Later in the afternoon, they visited the Central Executive Office of Dokham Chushi Gangdruk, where General Secretary Karma Samdup and Treasurer Geshe Tenzin Ngodup introduced their ongoing initiatives aligned with the guidance of His Holiness the Dalai Lama before guiding a tour of the Heroes Memorial Hall.
At 5:00 PM, a public gathering was convened at the Samyeling Local Assembly Hall, Geshe Lharampa Atuk Tseten spoke on the vast accomplishments of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, international geopolitics, and the unifying inspiration of patriot Rangzen Lobga self-immolation. He highlighted the nationwide support and campaigns sparked by this noble act of sacrifice, urging everyone across the three traditional provinces and religious sects to stand united and continue advocating for the Tibetan cause in accordance with the martyr’s hopes. While Parliamentarian Lharong addressed the critical situation inside Tibet, the official resolution of solidarity passed unanimously during the 1st session of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile regarding the grave conditions in Tibet, and the critical dangers law posed by the Chinese Communist Government’s so-called “Ethnic Unity and Progress Law” which was enforced starting 1 July, 2026, designed to eradicate Tibet’s distinct religion, culture, language, and national identity, along with strategies to counter these policies.
Following the speeches, an open Q&A session was held. The Parliamentarians provided detailed responses and clarifications to questions and views expressed by the attendees, successfully concluding the gathering.
In the evening, 26 local associations hosted a farewell dinner for the visiting delegates, marking the official conclusion of all programs scheduled for the Delhi visit.
