
Dharamshala: On August 14, 2026, Tibetan Parliamentarians Tenpa Yarphel and Gyaltsen Choekye Gagya, accompanied by Gangtok Tibetan Settlement Officer Jinpa Phuntsok, visited Rumtek Shedrup Chokhor Ling, the seat founded by the 16th Gyalwang Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorje, in Sikkim.
Upon arrival, the parliamentarians were warmly received by the monastery’s Khenpo (Abbot), administrators, and staff. The delegation toured the monastery and offered prayers at the main assembly hall, the private residence (Simchung), the Stupa, and the Karma Shri Nalanda Institute.
During their interaction with the monastery’s administration, Abbot, and staff, the parliamentarians introduced the ongoing official visitation program being undertaken by members of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile across various regions of India, Nepal, and Bhutan.
In the evening, the parliamentarians attended a dinner hosted in their honour by the Regional Dokham Chushi Gangdrug.
