
Dharamshala: As part of the programme of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Parliamentarians Lopon Thupten Gyaltsen and Sonam Norbu Ratsa arrived at the Odisha Phuntsokling Settlement on 16 August 2026.
Upon their arrival at Bhubaneswar Airport, the two parliamentarians were received by Thupten, Agriculture Advisor at the Tibetan Settlement Office. Later that afternoon, upon their arrival at the Odisha Phuntsokling Settlement, local dignitaries accorded them a warm reception at the Cooperative Guest House.
On 17 August, the parliamentarians inspected the Local Cooperative Office, Settlement Office, Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement, Local Tibetan Assembly Hall, various projects in Camp No. 1, the Elder’s Home, Camp No. 2, the branch office of Men-Tsee-Khang, the local primary health centre, the Dekyi Kyedtsal Crèche, and various projects in Camp No. 5. They also paid pilgrimage visits to Sera Jey Dechen Choephelling Monastery and Nedo Ogyen Choekhorling Monastery.
In the afternoon, they inspected projects in Camp No. 3 and paid pilgrimage visits to Dudul Rabtenling Monastery, Namkha Khyung Dzong Nunnery, and Rigon Thupten Mindroling Monastery.
