Dharamshala: Parliamentarians Khenpo Kada Ngedup Sonam and Lhamo Tsering Kongtsa attended a long-life prayer (Tenshug) ceremony at Sera Monastery in Bylakuppe Tibetan Settlement on 29 August, marking the conclusion of their official visit to Hunsur Rabgyaling Tibetan Settlement in South India.

The Parliamentarians travelled from Hunsur to Bylakuppe on 28 August following an invitation from the Lachi of Sera Mey and Sera Jey Monasteries.

The long-life prayer ceremony, held at the Sera Main Assembly Hall, was offered for the long life of Kyabje Gaden Tripa Rinpoche Jetsun Lobsang Dorjee Pal Sangpo, Kyabje Jangtse Choeje Rinpoche Jetsun Ngawang Sungrab Tenzin Gelek Pal Sangpo, and Kyabje Sharpa Choeje Rinpoche Jetsun Ngawang Jordhen Pal Sangpo, as well as the current and former abbots of Sera Monastery.

Former Supreme Justice Commissioner Karma Damdul, Members of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, including Khenpo Kada Ngedup Sonam, Konchok Yangphel, Ngodup Dorjee, Choephel Thupten, and Lhamo Tsering Kongtsa, settlement officers, representatives of various organisations, and monastic and lay devotees also attended the ceremony.

Following the prayer ceremony, the Parliamentarians joined the three Gelug lamas and other guests for lunch at the Sera Assembly Hall. In the afternoon, they paid their respects and received audiences with Kyabje Jangtse Choeje Rinpoche and Kyabje Sharpa Choeje Rinpoche, followed by a private audience with Kyabje Gaden Tripa.

During the audiences, the Parliamentarians offered prayers for the flourishing of the Buddha Dharma, the long life of spiritual leaders, and the continued expansion of their noble activities.

With the conclusion of the Tenshug ceremony and the subsequent audiences, the Parliamentarians successfully completed their official visit to Hunsur Rabgyaling Tibetan Settlement in South India.
