Dharamshala: On 8 September 2026, the final day of their official visit to Dehradun, Parliamentarians Tenzin Choezin and Ngawang Lodoe Drawu were invited as Chief Guests at the Inter-school Literary and Cultural Meet 2026, an undertaking of Department of Education, CTA, hosted by Rajpur Tibetan Homes School (RHS), Dehradun.

The event was attended by Jamyang Wangyal, Head of Education and Counselling, Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), as the Special Guest, along with Gyaltsen Choklang, Principal of RHS, headmasters, staff members, and 163 students from seven schools: Rajpur Tibetan Homes Foundation, Mussoorie Homes Foundation, Dekyiling School, Goramarfi School, Mussoorie Sambhota School, Selakui Tibetan Children’s Village School, and Herbertpur Tibetan Homes Foundation.

In their address, the Parliamentarians highlighted the importance of such platforms in preserving Tibetan identity and strengthening the younger generation’s connection with the Tibetan people’s movement. They spoke about the continued repression of Tibetans under the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), particularly following the implementation of the “Ethnic Unity and Progress Law” on 1 July 2026, as well as the self-immolation of Tibetan martyr Lobga Rangzen in front of the United Nations Headquarters.

They encouraged the students to take pride in their Tibetan heritage and to actively contribute to the Tibetan people’s movement, reminding them that they are the future seeds of Tibet.

The Parliamentarians then witnessed the Tibetan-language debate on the topic, “The Inner Mind is More Important than External Material Things.” As Chief Guests, they presented honorariums to the juries and participation certificates to the students
