The delegation was also briefed on Tibet’s historical status as an independent and sovereign nation and on efforts to counter China’s narrative regarding its occupation of Tibet. Additional topics included the critical human rights situation for Tibetans within Tibet and the environmental consequences of China’s unsustainable exploitation of the Tibetan plateau, which affects millions across multiple countries.
The Speaker and the Deputy Speaker commended Monlam AI and the Monlam Research Institute for their exemplary contributions to preserving Tibetan language, culture, and religion through the development of a digital platform. The Speakers expressed appreciation for the supporters’ significant contributions to these initiatives. The meeting concluded with a question-and-answer session and a tour of the parliamentary hall.
