Dharamsala: As per the pre-defined schedule of Tibetan settlements official visitation by the 16th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Parliamentarian Ven Tenpa Yarphel’s visit to Tibetan markets under the jurisdiction of Dehradun Tibetan settlement office, Dehradun from Nov 27 to 29 was successfully concluded with his arrival at Dharamsala on Nov 30.
He left for Delhi from Dharamsala on Nov 26. The next day, he departed for Meerut Tibetan market from Samyeling Tibetan settlement, Delhi, upon whose arrival, the concerned Tibetan authorities of the market received him with a hearty welcome. He was received with equal exuberance by the concerned Tibetan authorities of the markets and the people at the two different Tibetan markets in Mathura.
On Nov 27, with the commencement of his program, he left for the Tibetan market at Meerut, where he met with the congregation of Tibetan sweater-sellers and after addressing them, engaged in question-answer session. He also discussed with them the various means to alleviate the problems and grievances faced by the Tibetans there. Thereafter, as per his program, he visited the section A and B, the ‘Lhasa market’ at Mathura Tibetan market on Nov 28. He addressed the people there and assessed the conditions pertaining to their welfare and livelihood.
During these visits, the parliamentarian gave 3 public addresses to the congregation of Tibetans at the respective markets. At the gathering, he elucidated on the achievements of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the critical situation inside Tibet and its relative political international scenario as well as the program of the last adjourned parliamentary session. He also answered the questions posed by them.
With the assessment of the situations and conditions of the Tibetans and their markets along with the follow-up on the petition regarding the alleviation of problems faced by them, the part of this official program was, thus, concluded successfully.
The grievances as per chronicled by the parliamentarian will be forwarded to the concerned departments under the Cabinet for effective redressal through the standing committee of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile.
