Tibetan Parliamentary delegation on a three day visit to the state of Goa

The delegation presenting Smt. Mridula Sinha, Honorable Governor of Goa with a souvenir.

 

Goa: As per the Tibetan parliamentary delegation to advocate for Tibet and its issues in the states of Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Goa from Sept 28 to Oct 19, the delegation continues with their advocacy program at Goa.

Parliamentarian Ms. Youdon Aukartsang briefing issues of Tibet to Smt. Mridula Sinha, Honorable Governor of Goa

 

Smt. Mridula Sinha, Honorable Governor of Goa received the visiting Tibetan parliamentary delegation at Raj Bhawan on 5th October. Ms. Youdon Aukatsang the head of the delegation greeted Honorable Governor with a traditional Tibetan scarf and Tibetan Parliament Secretariat’s official souvenir. This was followed by an offering of Thank you India Souvenir by Mr. Chopel Thupten, CTA Chief Representative for the South Zone. Prior to the meeting with the Governor, Mr. Anshuman Abhishek, Officer on Special Duty to the Governor of Goa briefed the delegation on the history of Goa Raj Bhawan.

The delegation presents a souvenir to Dr. Pramod Sawant, Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly.

 

The delegation called upon Dr. Pramod Sawant, Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly. They were received at the Conference Hall of the Goa Legislative Assembly Office. After the presentation of souvenir and briefing on Tibet, the Speaker was also invited to Dharamsala, the seat of Tibetan exile administration.

The delegation presents a souvenir to Sh. Sadanand Shet Tanavade, Party General Secretary, and the other Party executives at the Head office of Goa Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party.

 

The delegation was invited to the Head office of Goa Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party, where they met with Mr. Sadanand Shet Tanavade, Party General Secretary, and other Party executives. Following that, the delegation visited the Party Head Office of Goa Pradesh Congress, where they met with Mr. Girish R. Chodankar, Party President, Mr.Thambhu Bhau Bandekar, former Deputy Speaker and Party Vice President, several Party Spokespersons and Block Representatives. Party leaders were presented with Tibetan Parliament Secretariat’s souvenir. At both the Party offices of BJP and Congress, the delegation had nearly an hour-long discussion on the situation of Tibet.

The delegation meets Mr. Girish R. Chodankar, Goad Pradesh Congress Party President, Mr.Thambhu Bhau Bandekar, former Deputy Speaker and Party Vice President, several Party Spokespersons and Block Representatives at Party Head Office of Goa Pradesh Congress.

 

The delegation also organized a public talk entitled ‘Why Tibet Matters’ at Goa International Center in the evening of October 6th where a presentation was made on religious persecution in Tibet and impact of Tibet’s environmental degradation to India. The event was attended by members of Goa International Center and few members of civil society in Goa.
