The 3rd Special General Meeting from 3-5 October, 2019 adopted resolution on the agendas of the meeting

Dharamsala: The 3rd Special General Meeting of Tibetans from 3-5 October 2019, which was attended by 340 delegates from 24 different countries, adopted resolution on the two agendas of the meeting, ‘5-50 vision’ and ‘The relationship between the lineage of His Holiness the Dalai Lamas and Tibetan people’.

After the presentation of recommendations from the remaining 4 committees in the morning session, Speaker Pema Jungney and Deputy Speaker Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile along with Chairmen and secretaries of the 10 committees complied all the recommendations in the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile’s Library cum conference hall.

The adopted resolution strongly resolved to condemn any interference of China on the reincarnation of His Holiness the Dalai Lama while asserting that the supreme authority on recognition of the reincarnation of His Holiness the Dalai Lama shall rest only on His Holiness the Dalai Lama and his institution.

It called unity of Tibetan people as the paramount, and emphasized on the strengthening of Tibetan settlements, preservation of Tibetan language and culture, etc., which shall be implemented after extensive discussion by Cabinet (Kashag) and Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (TPiE).

In the closing ceremony, Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay delivered his speech. Followed by Speaker Pema Jungney’s closing remark and Deputy Speaker Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok’s thank you note.
