Mr. Choedak Gyatso was born in Chenza, Amdo, Tibet. He completed his middle school education there. In 2005, following his exile, he enrolled at TCV Suja. From school days, he was among the best students, and has won many awards in Tibetan and English debate and poetry competitions.

In 2011, he was selected in the top ten among 270 contestants in the exile poetry recitation competition organized by Shingsang Rinpoche.

In 2012, he joined TCV Gopalpur. In 2014, he secured the top position in the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (XII) at TCV Gopalpur. He earned his B.A. in Political Science from Ramjas College, Delhi University, in 2017, and subsequently pursued his M.A. in Political Science from IGNOU the following year.

From 2018 to 2021, he served as Vice President of the Global Tibetan People’s Movement for Middle Way Approach, and from 2019 to 2021 was elected to the 10^th Local Tibetan Assembly of Dharamshala.

In 2021, he was elected as a member of the 17^th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and served a full term, and currently continues to serve as a member of the 18^th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile from Domey province.
