Mr. Gonpo Dhundup was born in the Sonamling Tibetan Settlement in Ladakh, he completed primary and secondary education at TCV (Tibetan Children’s Village) Agling branch school, TCV Ladakh, and TCV Gopalpur. He earned a Master’s degree (MA) in Political Science from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University, and completed a Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Governance and Public Policy from O.P. Jindal Global University.

During his student years, he served as a school captain at three different schools. During college, he served as the General Secretary of the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress (RTYC) Rohini, the President of the Student Committee at the TCV Hostel in Delhi, and both the Cultural Secretary and President of the Foreign Students’ Committee at Kirori Mal College.

In 2019, he was elected as the President of the Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) during its 17^th General Body Meeting, becoming the youngest president in the history of the Tibetan Youth Congress. He was re-elected in 2022 and served as the President of TYC for two terms spanning a duration of six years.

With unwavering dedication, he has actively engaged in campaigns, advocacy, and the Tibetan freedom struggle. In addition to extensively raising awareness and lobbying for the Tibetan cause among various international organizations and governments, he also possesses rich experience in conducting numerous leadership and empowerment workshops for the youth.

In alignment with his lifelong commitment to the Tibetan freedom struggle, he continues to advocate for the cause of Tibet and currently serves as a Member of the 18^th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile from the Utsang province.
