Mr. Lobsang Gyatso Sither was born in Dharamsala, India, and has completed his school education from Upper Tibetan Children Village (UTCV). He graduated with B. Sc. in Computer Science from Loyola College, Chennai, as a Gold Medalist, and did his Software Engineering from London Metropolitan University, the UK.

He has been working as the Director of Technology at the Tibet Action Institute since 2011. For more than 15 years, he has worked on digital security, censorship, and surveillance and was interviewed as an expert by Tibetan as well as International Media.

Mr. Sither was named as one of the 32 innovators building a better future as part of the WIRED 2021 Smart list and was on the Advisory Board of Citizen Clinic, a public-interest cybersecurity clinic at the University of California-Berkeley from 2018-2020.  He has also published a photo journal titled ‘Exile’ documenting the story of the early Tibetan refugees, the gradual rebuilding of their lives, and the re-establishment of cultural and religious institutions in exile. Mr. Sither was elected a member of the 17^th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and is currently a member of the 18^th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile from the Utsang province.
