Mr. Lobsang Thupten Pontsang was born in Rebgong, Tibet. In 1998, he came into exile to India and completed his school education from Tibetan Children Village school. From 2003 to 2004, he completed his social communication studies at Mother’s International School based in Delhi. He worked as a personal secretary to Ven. Jigme Rinpoche, former Speaker of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and former Kalon of Department of Security, from 2005 to 2012.

For four years from 2010, he served as the secretary of Kunphen Rigney School and took the responsibility of the school’s director from 2014.  He served as the welfare officer of the Central Domey Association’s executive committee from 2016 to 2018. He was previously elected to the 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile. In 2025, he worked as a member of the Domey Association’s Ghoton Organizing Committee (90th birthday celebration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama) and as the Chair of the Memorial Organizing Committee for Lhasey Gyalo Thundup, elder brother of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Currently, he is a member of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile from Dhomey province and the director of the Dengyab writers’ association.
