Mr. Sangye Dorjee was born in Lhatog, Dokham, Tibet. He attended the local school up to middle school. Later, he entered the monastic order and studied Buddhist philosophy for about a decade.

In 2011, he arrived in exile, and in 2018, he graduated from the College for Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarah. From 2019 to 2021, he served as the President of the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress (RTYC) in Dharamshala. For about a year starting in 2022, he worked as a primary school teacher at Khampagar.

From 2023 to 2026, he has been serving as the General Secretary of the Central Dokham Chushi Gangdrug. He is currently a Member of the 18^th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile from Dotoe province.
