Mr. Sonam Norbu Ratsa was born to father from Amdo Sharpa, and mother from Labrang Tashi Gomang. After enrolling at Panjab University, he continued his studies and successfully graduated while participating in various university activities. Since his college years, he has been actively involved in diverse social and political movements.

From 2010 to 2016, he worked a Senior Consultant at the Royal Bank of Canada. Prior to that, he worked for four years at FMCA, an ISO 2007 certificated American Financial Company for four years. He has also collaborated with various non-governmental organizations in India, through which he volunteered to teach underprivileged children and the elderly. Backed by a rich background in education and experience, he has the confidence to work seamlessly across diverse Tibetan, Indian, and international environments.

Having been elected as a Member of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (representing the Domey province) for two terms in 2016 and 2021, he has served with utmost sincerity and dedication in all his duties. Currently, he continue to serve as a member of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile from Domey province.
