Mr. Tseten Phuntsok was born in Kullu-Manali, Himachal Pradesh, India, to his father, Sonam, who hailed from Lhasa, and his mother, Nyima, who was from Tholing in Upper Utsang, Tibet.

After his family relocated to the Hunsur Rabgyaling Tibetan Settlement, he completed his primary and lower secondary education until Class X at the Central School for Tibetans (CST), administered by the Central Tibetan Schools Administration, in Hunsur. He completed Class XI from the Central School for Tibetans in Dalhousie, Himachal Pradesh, and graduated Class XII from the Central School for Tibetans in Bylakuppe in 1989.

From 1990 to 1993, he pursued his undergraduate studies and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from a college in Bangalore. During his college years, he served as President of the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress (RTYC), Bangalore, from 1992 to 1993.

From 1994 to 1995, he served as the Manager of the Carpet Weaving Center under the Cooperative Society of the Hunsur Rabgyaling Settlement. Subsequently, from 1995 to 1997, he held the dual responsibilities of Cashier and Production Manager for the Wool and Carpet Section of the Hunsur Business Unit under the Department of Finance of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA).

In 1997, pursuant to an official transfer and appointment order, he joined the Tibet Hotel in Dharamshala, which operates under the direct management of the CTA Department of Finance, where he served until 2006. In recognition of his dedication and performance, he received successive promotions and, beginning in 2003, was appointed Director of the Tibet Hotel. He carried out this responsibility with diligence and commitment throughout his tenure.

From 2004 to 2005, during the initial registration and establishment of the Federation of Tibetan Cooperatives (FTCI), the serving Chief Executive Officer resigned. He accepted the additional responsibility of serving concurrently as Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Federation until a permanent Chief Executive Officer was appointed.

In 2006, Mr. Phuntsok relocated to the United States. From 2018 to 2020, after being elected to the Board of Directors of the Tibetan Association of Northern California (TANC), he served actively for two years. During this period, he was appointed Vice President of the Association and faithfully discharged his responsibilities. He currently serves as the President of The Call of General Public, a grassroots community organization.

In response to the encouragement and requests of many supporters, Mr. Phuntsok accepted the nomination to contest the 2026 Tibetan Parliamentary Election from North and South America. Guided by a strong commitment to public service, he pledged to serve the Tibetan people with sincerity, integrity, and dedication if elected. He was subsequently elected by the public as a Member of the 18^th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, representing North and South America, where he currently serves with a steadfast commitment to the welfare of the Tibetan community.
