Ms. Tenzin Pelmo was born raised in Darjeeling, she had completed her primary school from Bethany English School, Darjeeling; middle school from Loreto Convent English School, Darjeeling; and high school from Mt. Hermon School, Darjeeling.

For her higher education, Ms. Pelmo graduated with a degree in Political Science from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University.

She has worked for approximately 11 years in Delhi assisting refugees from various Asian countries including Burma, Syria, Palestine, and Afghanistan who fled to India due to political hardships, subsequently worked for over 10 years in the administration of the Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Handicraft Center in Darjeeling.

Alongside administrative duties, Ms. Pelmo conducted historical research on His Holiness the 13th Dalai Lama’s stay in Darjeeling, India, following the actions of the Manchu (Qing) dynasty. Based on this research, established a museum and a library at the Self-Help Center. Through posters and displays within the library, aimed to promote the Tibetan cause by demonstrating in various ways that Tibet was historically a free and independent nation.

Ms. Pelmo has also initiated a year-round organic farming project capable of cultivating green vegetables in all four seasons. Currently, she is serving as a Member of the 18^th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile from Domey province.
