Mr. Dawa Tsering was born on 10th March 1954 in Dhingri Rachu, Tibet. While studying at C. S. T Dalhousie and C. S. T Shimla, he was appointed group leader and school captain. He has extensive experience in doing diverse works and social services which includes working as a peon at the office of TYC, executive committee member of RTYC Dharamsala and Mcleod Youth Association, founder of Yongling school, accountant and cashier of UTCV branch of Men-Tsee-Khang, Secretary (advisory) of National Democratic Party of Tibet. Mr. Tsering was elected settlement officer of Dharamsala two times, and he was the Vice President & advisor of the Indo-Tibetan Friendship Association as well. Likewise, he also took the initiative of setting up the Parents Association and was successful in procuring a school bus. During the 2001 earthquake in Gujarat, he led the volunteers in providing relief. He has been actively engaged with adult education, Buddhist education for laypeople, nun & youth empowerment & employment, etc. He also founded the ‘Tibetan people movement for middle way policy’ in 2008 and Dhasa Peace & Compassion promotion group in 2020.

Mr. Tsering was previously nominated by His Holiness the Dalai Lama for the 13th Assembly of Tibetan People’s Deputies in 2001 and was elected to the 14th, 15th, and 16th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile. Currently, he is a member of the 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile from Utsang province.
