MR LOBSANG THUPTEN was born on 18th November 1981 in Rebgong, Tibet. In 1998, he came into exile to India and completed his school education from Tibetan Children Village school. From 2003 to 2004, he completed his social communication studies at Mother’s International School based in Delhi. He worked as a personal secretary to Ven. Jigme Rinpoche, former Speaker of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and former Kalon of Department of Security, from 2005 to 2012.
With assistance from private donors, Mr. Thupten was able to extend his help in supporting underprivileged people and students. For four years from 2010, he served as the secretary of Kunphen Rigney School and took the responsibility of the school’s director from 2014. During the 80th birth anniversary of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Mr. Lobsang took the responsibility of arranging accommodation and transportation for guests and sponsors of the celebration. He served as the welfare officer of the Central Dhomey Association’s executive committee from 2016-2018. Currently, he is a member of the 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile from Dhomey province and a coordinator of the Dengyab writers’ association.
