Mr. Ngodup Dorjee was born on 16th August 1956 and with the sheer blessing and kindness of His Holiness the Dalai Lama he has received modern education. He started by working at the Tibetan cooperative society of Leh, and after his commissioning into the Central Tibetan Administrative service in 1982, he has served in various capacities such as Manager of the Tibetan Handicraft Centre and Secretary of the Tibetan Cooperative Society, Leh-Ladakh; Manager of the Tibetan Women Handicraft Centre, Rajpur; Tibetan Welfare Officer, Gangtok; Tibetan Settlement Officer, Mundgod; Chief Representative Officer, Bangalore; Additional Secretary, Department of Home and finally ascending to the post of Home Secretary in the Department of Home, CTA.

Mr. Dorjee has also served as the Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Brussels and Switzerland. During over 40 years of his service, Mr. Ngodup Dorjee has been recognized for his service and administrative acumen with a special promotion in 1998, and a CTA distinct staff award in 1997. He is currently a member of the 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile from the Utsang province and took the oath of office on 8th June 2021 in accordance with the Charter of Tibetans in exile.
