MR PHURPA DORJEE GYALDHONG  was born on 18th April 1989, in Minyak, Tibet, and did his primary and secondary education there. He then joined the Sheng Zangxiao School in Dartse Do, Kham, Tibet, and completed his bachelor’s degree. After arriving in India, he focused on studying mainly the English language in Tibetan Transit School. Thereafter, he joined College for Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarah, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in the Tibetan language.

From 2015 to 2018, he worked as a researcher of the history of Kham under the history research project of the three provinces of Tibet for the Gaden Phodrang. From 2018 to 2021 he has worked as a reporter and editor of the Chinese Section at Voice of Tibet (VOT). He is presently a member of the 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile from Dhotoe province.
