Mr. Rigzin Lhundup was born on 2nd October 1984 to his father Dorjee Tsewang and his mother Lhamo Tsering in Ngamrim, Tibet. He came to India in 1999 and joined the TCV school of Suja. In 2004, he joined the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (CIHTS) and graduated with Shastri (equivalent to B.A) and Acharya (equivalent to M.A ) degrees. Then in 2020, he completed his Ph. D.

Mr. Lhundup has experience of working as a member of the editorial team of CIHTS magazine, and as the President of the Youth Buddhist Association. He has undertaken many other responsibilities including member of the regional Varanasi Tibetan Election Commission, Chairperson of the CIHTS welfare association, working committee member of the Global Tibetan People’s Movement for Middle Way Approach, and many others. He has also translated and published a notable book from English to Tibetan. Currently, he is a member of the 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile from Utsang province and a Tibetan lecturer at the Dalai Lama Institute of Higher Education in Bangalore.
