Ms. Juchen Kunchok Chodon was born on 28th May, 1972 in Bylakuppe, India. After becoming well-versed in Tibetan, English, and Hindi languages, she proceeded in following the advice of her late father by serving the Tibetan administration and community. She got elected to the 13th Assembly of Tibetan People’s Deputies (ATPD) for the first time in 2001 and was re-elected to the 14th, 15th, and 16th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (TPiE). She has been successful in fulfilling her duties as per the aspiration of His Holiness the great 14th Dalai Lama and the oath taken by her to work in accordance with the rules and regulations enacted by the Parliament.
During her visit to Tibetan settlements, she assessed the grievances of the general public and apprised the matter to the administration. Likewise, she has made visitations to North America, Russia, Australia, etc. to spread awareness of Tibet’s issue. She has also participated in the 6th World Parliamentarians Convention on Tibet (WPCT), held in Ottawa, Canada in 2012. She was a member of the Standing Committee, the Public accounts committee, and the organizing committee of the first Special General Meeting of Tibetans. She has served as a member of the Dhokham Chushi Gangdruk’s Central Election Commission for several terms. Presently, she is a member of the 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile from Dhotoe province and the vice president of the Dege Gyalyong Lhentsok.
