MS TSERING LHAMO was born on 10th February 1969 in the Ngaba region in  Amdo, Tibet. After completing her education, she started working as a Tibetan and Chinese language translator at the political section of Ngaba county office in 1991.

She fled to India in 1992, and worked at the position of Under Secretary and Deputy Secretary at Tibet Policy Institute of the CTA, then known as the Research and Analysis, for six years. She has translated several notable books. In 1999, she moved to Taiwan and worked as a news reporter at Radio Free Asia for a year and at Voice of America for eight years. After returning to India, she worked as a Joint Secretary of the Department of Security of the CTA for three years, and at the Department of Information and International Relations as a website editor and the head of China desk for five years. She was previously elected to the 16th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, during which she has served in many parliamentary committees and translated the book ‘My Land and My People’ by His Holiness the Dalai Lama into Chinese. Ms. Lhamo is currently a member of the 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile from Dhomey Province.
