Ven. Geshe Lharampa Atuk Tsetan was born on 15th April 1972 in Tibet to father Atuk Wangdue and mother Rungye Tsewang Dolma. In 1983, he joined Lithang Monastery and studied texts of Sutra and Vajrayana. In 1991, he fled into exile and joined the Drepung Gomang Monastery in India. He was honored with the highest ranking degrees for completing the five major fundamental texts of Buddhism. In 2015, he was honored with Geshe Lharampa’s degree (Ph.D. in Buddhist Philosophy).

He worked as the President of All Gelug His Holiness’ Long Life Offering’s Executive Committee in 2014. He has worked as the secretary of Mundgod Chushi Gangduk and as a representative of  Drepung Gomang Monastery. He was previously elected to the 15th and 16th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and was a member of the Standing Committee, Public Accounts Committee, and other parliamentary committees. Following the advice of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Geshe Atuk has always worked for the cause of Tibet to the best of his capacity. Currently, he is one of the members of the 17th  Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile from the Gelug School of Tibetan Buddhism and is also an advisor to the Dokham Lithang Association.
