Dharamsala: Chaired by Speaker Ven. Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, the sixth day of the Fourth session of 16th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile commenced at 9:30 in the morning.
At Question Hour of the first sitting, Parliamentarian Ven. Khenpo Jamphal Tenzin posed the starred question to the President of the Central Tibetan Administration Dr. Lobsang Sangay, on the viability of the establishment of settlement and foundation of school in abroad countries. And of other means, if non-viable, to preserve our culture and tradition at the time when the Tibetan race is being assimilated into other, to which, Dr. Lobsang Sangay offered his due answers. He also answered the supplementary questions raised by the Parliamentarians.
The session then, moved to continue with the remainder question-answer proceeding on 2016-17 Report of Department of Home between the Parliamentarians and Home Kalon Mr. Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang. With that, the debate on the 2016-17 Report of the Department of Home and of its branch offices concluded.
Of about 32 Parliamentarians participated in the debate on the 2016-17 report of the aforementioned Department.
It was followed by the Report presentation of the 8th Public Account Committee of Parliamentary Committee, by its Chairman Ven. Geshe Lharampa Atuk Tsetan.
The afternoon session, with Deputy Speaker Ven. Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok as Speaker, continued with the aforementioned Report presentation against which a motion for debate was moved by Parliamentarian Gewatsang Ngawang Tharpa. This motion was supported by Parliamentarian Ven. Geshe Lharampa Atuk Tsetan.
Subsequently, the précis 2016-17 report of Department of Finance was presented by Finance Kalon Mr. Karma Yeshi, followed by the presentation of the review of the detailed report by the Standing Committee by Parliamentarian Lobsang Choejor.
Kalon Karma Yeshi answered the questions posed by the parliamentarians after Parliamentarian Dolma Tsering motioned for debate on the review which was supported by Parliamentarian Lutsang Gyarik Thar.
With the participation of 10 parliamentarians posing relative questions and Kalon Karma Yeshi’s requisite answers, the debate on the 2016-17 Report of the Department of Finance and of its branch offices concluded.
The presentation of précis 2016-17 Report of Department of Education by Kalon Ngodup Tsering and the Standing Committee’s review on the detailed report by Parliamentarian Ven. Monlam Tharchin paved way for the debate as motioned by Parliamentarian Lobsang Choejor, which was supported by Parliamentarian Lobsang Yeshi.
The session adjourned at 6:35 in the evening till 9:30 of the next morning.
