Dharamsala: As per the invitation from Dainik Jagran, the local Hindi media, Deputy Speaker Ven. Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok attended the Environment Sanitation Program, organized by the said media, as its Chief Guest on Oct 14.
Ven. Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, as requested by the organizer took oath in Hindi, to keep and maintain the environment clean and hygiene along with the participants of the event. Thereafter, the Deputy Speaker and Smt. Rajni Vyas, Mayor of Dharamsala initiated the program.
In the aftermath of the Bagsu-Nag clean-up, Ven. Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok chaired the discussion based on the guidance and advice of His Holiness the Dalai Lama on the importance of environmental cleanliness and the necessary facilitation from the local authorities. He also provided several suggestions during the discussion.
He expressed his gratitude to the media personnel of Dainik Jagran for the invitation, in particular, for publishing numerous achievements and activities of His Holiness the Dalai Lama as well as on the issues related to Tibet. He further implored them to continue with the publication of issues related to Tibetan’s struggle in the future too.
Along with Mayor Rajni Vyas, Dharamsala Tibetan settlement officer Mr. Dawa Rinchen, members of Environmental Desk under the aforementioned office as well as the local residents also attended this event.
