Deputy Speaker follows-up on the last APIPFT meeting at Delhi

ITCO, 9th October 2017, New Delhi – In the morning of 4th October 2017, Deputy Speaker Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok met with Mr.Satish Dhar, PA to the Convener of All Party Indian Parliamentary Forum for Tibet (APIPFT) Mr.Shanta Kumar, Member of Parliament from Himachal Pradesh at his office to follow-up on the last meeting of APIPFT held at Constitutional Club, New Delhi on 7th August 2017.

Later in the afternoon Deputy Speaker also made a courtesy visit on behalf of Tibetan Parliament to Ms. Sulekha Tai Kumbhare to congratulate her for being appointed as a member of National Minority Commission. He also thank her and requested her continuous support for the cause and also assistance for the welfare of Tibetan people, in particular, Tibetan Sweater seller union across the country.

In the evening of 7th October 2017, Deputy Speaker took part in the religious ceremony and meeting of Mahabodhi Society of India at their temple on Mandir marg near Gol Dakhana. The religious ceremony was held in celebration of the end of ‘Rains-retreat’ (Vassa) and was attended by around 70 odd people from Sri Lanka and also Tibetan representatives from Majnukatilla, Buddhvihar, Settlement Officer Mr.Lekhi Dorjee and his staff and also staff of ITCO.
Ven. Acharya Yeshi Phunstok was one of the guest speaker along with the General Secretary, Joint Secretary of Mahabodhi Society of India and the Sri Lankan ambassador to India,who also attended the ceremony and meeting.
Deputy Speaker also met with a former Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh during his recent Delhi visit.
