Dharamshala, 19 September 2026: The fourth day of the second session of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile commenced with the continuation of deliberations on the annual report of the Department of Home (DoH). Kalon Palden Dhondup provided clarifications and responses to the questions and concerns raised by members of the House.

The House expressed appreciation for the overall functioning of the Department, particularly the progress and success of the ongoing relocation initiative under the Bring Back Compact Community (BBCC) project. Members also deliberated on the need to provide youth with workshops and skills-training programs tailored to their needs, aspirations and interests; developing a long-term vision and strengthening the functioning of Tibetan cooperative societies; and making effective use of unused agricultural land in Tibetan settlements, among other matters related to the welfare and development of the Tibetan community.

Secretary-General Sonam Dorjee subsequently read out the names of Members of Parliament granted leave of absence, followed by the presentation of the List of Business for the upcoming week.

The session was adjourned at 12:30 pm.
