DHARAMSHALA: A group of ten members from International Campaign for Tibet, visited Tibetan Parliamentary Secretariat on 5 October 2016 at 3:00 pm.
The group, headed by former Kalon Tempa Tsering and former Tibetan Parliamentarian Tenzin Choedon, met the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile.
The Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel and Deputy Speaker Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, addressed the group on various important topics including the establishment of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, the evolution of the Tibetan democratic polity, structure and functions of the CTA, status of Tibetan movement, Tibet Support Groups (TSG) and World Parliamentarians Convention on Tibet (WPCT).
Former MP Ms. Choedon spoke on the objective of ICT and the efforts put forward by the organisation in achieving its goals.
The Deputy Speaker, on behalf of the Tibetans inside and outside Tibet, expressed gratitude to the organisation for its outstanding work and urged for the continued support.
Established in 1988, International Campaign for Tibet is a non-profit organisation which promotes human rights and democratic reform for Tibetans. It maintains offices in Washington, DC, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Brussels with a field office in Dharamshala, India.
