Washington DC: Parliamentarians Tenzing Jigme and Thondup Tsering of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile participated in the 22nd North American Tibetan Associations Conference held in Washington, D.C. from December 8-9, 2024.
The conference was officially inaugurated by Sikyong Penpa Tsering. With over 50 participants representing 26 states, the discussions focused on key issues such as strengthening community initiatives, enhancing cultural schools in the region, and planning celebrations for His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday next year.
The event concluded with remarks from Richard Gere, Chairman of the International Campaign for Tibet, who inspired attendees with his reflections and vision for the future of the Tibetan community. This conference was organized by the Office of Tibet and Capital Area Tibetan Association, Washington DC.
