Dharamshala, 27th August, 2024: Speaker of the 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Khenpo Sonam Tenphel announced the election of the new Auditor General during the 162nd meeting of the Standing Committee on 26th August, 2024.
Following the completion of the previous Auditor General Mr. Pema Dadul Arya on 4th May, 2023, as per the sub-clause 1 (a) and (b) of Clause (107) Article (X) enshrined in the Charter of Tibetans in Exile, a three membered Selection Committee proposed nominee for the post of new Auditor-General of Central Tibetan Administration (CTA). The nominees were General Manager of TCV Enterprises Limited Mr. Lhakpa Gyaltsen and Geshe Ngarampa Tenzin Wangyal.
The members of the Standing Committee voted between the two proposed candidates and Mr. Lhakpa Gyaltsen secured two-third of majority vote, claiming the position of the new Auditor General of the Office of the Auditor General.
