Dharamshala: Parliamentarian Geshe Atong Rinchen Gyaltsen attended the 60th Anniversary Celebration of the Phuntsokling Tibetan Settlement in Odisha as a representative of the Standing Committee of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (TPiE) on 3rd and 4th March, 2025.
On 2nd March 2025, the MP departed from Dharamshala and arrived at the Tibetan Settlement in Odisha via Delhi. Over the course of the two-day celebration, he delivered a speech on the second day of the event.
The ceremony was presided over by His Eminence Lama Namkha Rinpoche, with several Indian dignitaries in attendance, including Rajya Sabha member and former Chair of the All Party Indian Parliamentary Forum for Tibet, Shri Sujeet Kumar. Other notable attendees included Tsering Youdon, Additional Secretary of the Department of Home of the Central Tibetan Administration, and Sonam Yangtso, the Tibetan Settlement Officer of Mainpat Phendeling.
In the evening, the MP visited and paid his respects at several monasteries, including Sera Je Dechen Choepel Ling, Orgyen Thekchok Choekhor Ling, and Nyingma Rigon Thubten Mindrol Ling.
On the morning of 5th March, after paying his respects at Namkha Khyung Dzong Monastery, the MP departed for Dharamshala via Delhi.
