Dharamshala: As part of the program of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Parliamentarians Juchen Kunchok Chodon and Tsewang Tashi Bhara departed from Himachal Pradesh for Delhi on 15 July 2026. On the evening of 16 July, the two parliamentarians arrived at the Bylakuppe Lugsam Settlement, where they were received and warmly welcomed at the Bylakuppe Markham Guest House by local dignitaries led by the Settlement Officer.

On the morning of 17 July, the parliamentarians were welcomed by the teachers and students of Bylakuppe Sambhota School. Following the reception, they addressed the staff and students in the school hall, toured the classrooms and various departments, and then visited Drukkar Drupgyu Thoesam Dargye Ling Monastery.

They subsequently visited the Golathala Sambhota Branch School, the pre-primary school, and the crèche, where they addressed the entire staff. This was followed by a visit to Karuna Phende Gatsal, where they also delivered an address. Later in the afternoon, beginning at 2:00 p.m., they visited Sakya Tsekchen Chokhor Ling Monastery to offer prayers. They also toured the local branch of the Men-Tsee-Khang (Tibetan Medical and Astro-Science Institute), as well as the offices of the Settlement Office and the Cooperative Society. The day’s program concluded with a visit to Karma Kagyu Monastery.

On 18 July, the two parliamentarians attended the cremation ceremony (Shugbul) of the late Drikung Choje, Kyabje Ayang Rinpoche. In the afternoon, they visited the Phodrang at the Bylakuppe Settlement.
