Dharamshala: Members of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Juchen Kunchok Chodon and Tsewang Tashi Bhara, paid an official visit to the Mysore and Bangalore in South India from 23 to 24 July, 2026.

Following the successful completion of their official visit to the Lugsam Tibetan Settlement in Bylakuppe, the two parliamentarians departed Bylakuppe on 23 July 2026, after being seen off by local dignitaries. They arrived in Mysore around 3:30 PM, where they were warmly received by Tenzin Tsepel, Office Secretary of the Chief Representative Office (South Zone), along with the Director and Secretary of the Mysore Tibetan Community centre, as well as the President and executive members of the Regional Tibetan Students’ Association. Following the reception, the MPs held detailed discussions and exchanged views with the Hostel Director and Secretary regarding local conditions. At around 6:00 PM, the parliamentarians addressed Tibetan students studying at various colleges in Mysore, as previously scheduled, and answered queries while providing clarifications during an interactive Q&A session.

On the morning of 24 July, around 9:30 AM, the parliamentary delegation visited the Men-Tsee-Khang (Tibetan Medical & Astro. Institute) College. Upon arrival, they were received by the director and staff, after which they toured the college classrooms and various departments.

They subsequently visited the Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education, where they were welcomed by the Principal, administrators, faculty, staff, and student prefects. After touring the Tibetan Language Department, auditorium, and campus grounds, the MPs addressed an assembly of faculty, staff, and students, followed by a Q&A session to clear student doubts.

Later, the delegation visited the Federation of Tibetan Cooperatives in India (FTCI) office in Bangalore, where they were greeted by the General Manager and staff before touring the facility. Finally, they proceeded to the Chief Representative Office in Bangalore, where they were received by the office staff, the head of the Bangalore Youth Hostel, and Tibetan students, who escorted them to their guest accommodation.
