Dharamshala: On August 17, 2026, Parliamentarians Tenpa Yarphel and Gyaltsen Choekye Gagya arrived in Ravangla Kunpheling Tibetan Settlement, South Sikkim, for an official visit.

Upon their arrival, they were warmly received by representatives from the Tibetan Settlement Office, the Chair of the Local Tibetan Assembly, the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress, the Regional Tibetan Women’s Association, the Cooperative Society, the head of the regional Chushi Gangdrug chapter, and local residents.

During a public gathering at the Gyalyum Chenmo Hall, the two parliamentarians spoke on the critical situation inside Tibet, highlighting the recent self-immolation of patriot martyr Rangzen Lobga for the cause of Tibetan independence. They emphasized that Tibetans across the globe are staging powerful protests against the Chinese government and called on all Tibetans to honor the martyr’s final testament by intensifying their involvement in the Tibetan struggle.

The meeting concluded with an interactive Q&A session with the public.
