Dharamshala: On 14 August 2026, Parliamentarians Tenpa Yarphel and Gyaltsen Choekye Gagya of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (TPIE), accompanied by Gangtok Tibetan Settlement Officer Jinpa Phuntsok, visited Zurmang Karma Shedrup Chokhor Ling Monastery in Lingdum, Sikkim, the seat in exile of Kyabje Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche, head of the Zurmang Kagyue lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.

Upon their arrival, the delegation was warmly received by the monastery’s administrators and representatives. During the official visit, the parliamentarians offered prayers at the main temple, visited the monastic college (Shedra) and residence, and held a meeting with the monastery’s administrators, Khenpos, and staff.

During the meeting, the parliamentarians briefed the monastery officials on the ongoing official visitation program being conducted by members of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile across India, Nepal, and Bhutan.
