Dharamshala: As part of the program of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Parliamentarians Tenzin Choezin and Ngawang Lodoe Drawu continued their official visit to Tibetan communities in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

On 4 September, the second day of their visit, Parliamentarians Tenzin Choezin and Ngawang Lodoe Drawu visited Sambhota Tibetan School, Mussoorie, where they were warmly received by the school administration, staff and students. They toured the premises and addressed the gathering.

They then visited the Tibetan Homes Foundation, Mussoorie, where they met with the administration, staff and students and toured the school’s classrooms, laboratories, computer facilities and hostels. In their address, they spoke on His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s legacy, the critical situation inside Tibet, Tibet’s international advocacy, and the self-immolation of Martyr Lobga Rangzen in front of the UN Headquarters in New York. They encouraged the younger generation to carry forward the cause of Tibet alongside their careers and emphasised the importance of preserving Tibetan language, culture and religion.

As a mark of respect, they also visited the first Tibetan monastery in exile, located within the THF premises, and briefly attended the annual Phurba empowerment at Sakya Choekar Monastery to receive blessings.

The day concluded with a meeting with representatives of the Nainital Tibetan community, including the community leadership, BRDL, Regional Tibetan Association and Regional Tibetan Youth Congress.
