Dharamshala: On 14 August 2026, members of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Yeshi Dolma and Geshe Atong Rinchen Gyaltsen, departed from Tezu Dhargyaling Settlement and arrived at Miao Choephelling Settlement in Arunachal Pradesh.

Upon their arrival, the parliamentarians were warmly received with traditional ceremonial scarves (khataks) and tea by the Miao Choephelling Settlement Officer and staff, members of the Local Tibetan Assembly, the president and members of the Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement (BRDL), heads of the local health clinic and Men-Tsee-Khang (Tibetan Medical & Astro. Institute), the school headmaster, presidents of the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress and Regional Tibetan Women’s Association, the cooperative secretary, and representatives from the five local villages.

In the afternoon, the delegation visited Pema Choeling Monastery. They subsequently inspected the Settlement Office, the Men-Tsee-Khang branch, the Primary Health Care Centre, the elderly care home, and various local cooperative sections.

On 15 August, the parliamentarians attended the local official celebration marking India’s Independence Day.
