
Dharamshala: As part of the official program of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Parliamentarians Yeshi Dolma and Geshe Atong Rinchen Gyaltsen, during their visit to Tezu Dhargyeyling, called on the Deputy Commissioner of Tezu, Shri Kesang Ngorup Damo, on 14 August 2026.
During the meeting, the parliamentarians presented the Deputy Commissioner with a ceremonial Tibetan scarf (khatak) and a traditional thangka painting. They briefed him on the general situation and the hardships faced by Tibetans, particularly highlighting the recent self-immolation of patriot Rangtsen Lobga.
The Deputy Commissioner warmly received the visiting parliamentarians, served them tea, and hosted them with great hospitality. He also engaged in a cordial conversation with the parliamentarians.
Kunga Jigme, the Tibetan Settlement Officer of Tezu Dhargyeyling, was also present during the meeting.
The parliamentarians are scheduled to depart for Miao Choephelling to continue with their official program.
