
Dharamshala: On 16 August 2026, members of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Yeshi Dolma and Geshe Atong Rinchen Gyaltsen, paid an official visit to Sambhota Tibetan School in Miao Choephelling during the morning. They delivered speeches and held a Q&A session with the teachers and students.
In the afternoon, they addressed the general public of Miao Choephelling. They called on Tibetans to intensify their efforts toward the national cause, preserve Tibetan language and culture, and spoke about the patriotic martyr Rangzen Lobga, who self-immolated for the restoration of Tibetan independence. They also highlighted the evolution of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile in connection with His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s noble deeds, as well as the ongoing efforts to fulfill their constitutional duties, including Tibetan advocacy work.
Following the address, they provided detailed answers and clarifications to questions and feedback from the public. This concluded their official visit under the jurisdiction of the Miao Choephelling Settlement Office, and they departed for Tuting on 17 August.
