Dharamshala, 31 December 2025: The Parliamentary Committee tasked with compiling His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s speeches on democracy and updating the book on the evolution of Tibetan democracy in exile successfully concluded its work and submitted its report to the Parliamentary Secretariat.

In accordance with Official Resolution Document No. 58, passed during the 9th Session of the 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, a three-member committee comprising parliamentarians Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar, Geshe Atong Rinchen Gyaltsen, and Tenzin Jigdal commenced its work on 24 April 2025. The committee was mandated to compile the speeches of His Holiness the Dalai Lama related to democracy and the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, as well as to update the existing publication documenting the evolution of Tibetan democracy in exile.

On 18 September 2025, the final day of the 10th Session of the 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, a motion to extend the committee’s tenure was tabled and unanimously approved. The extension required the committee to submit its final report to the Parliamentary Secretariat by 31 December 2025.
