DHARAMSHALA: A group of 20 young recently arrived Tibetans from Tibet visited the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile on 17 October. The visit was part of a guided tour of the Central Tibetan Administration and its various departments to brief them about its functions, structure and policies.
Deputy Speaker Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok received the visiting members at the Parliamentary secretariat and offered Khatags (traditional white Tibetan scarves) to welcome them. During their interaction, he elucidated the roles and responsibilities of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and the functions performed by the parliament to strengthen the Tibetan democratic structure. He also guided them to the parliamentary hall and gave a brief explanation of the parliamentary proceedings. He further informed them about the rehabilitation projects of the Central Tibetan Administration and urged them to utilise these facilities.
The guided tour was organised by the Tibetan Reception Centre.
